Does HUM use generative AI?
No. Every note in HUM comes from your own voice, and every change after that is yours. HUM's tools, like Build Chords, follow the rules of music theory under your control.
Do I need to know music theory?
No. Hum the tune in your head and HUM writes it down as notes. Build Chords adds chords that fit it, no theory needed.
Does HUM work without an internet connection?
Yes. HUM turns your hum into notes with or without a connection. Your saved hums open, play and edit offline too; sharing needs a connection.
HUM doesn't hear me. What can I do?
Check that HUM may use the microphone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone › HUM. Hum close to the phone in a quiet room.
Is my voice recorded or stored?
When you record, HUM sends the sound to its servers, which turn it into notes. The recording is held in memory only while that happens and is not stored afterwards, unless you turn on "Help Improve HUM". See the Privacy Policy.
Can I use my songs in other music apps?
Yes. Export any song as a MIDI file to open in another music app, or as an audio file to play anywhere.
